Often times, we miss opportunities that are right in front of our eyes. That seems to be the case with Chad Rieflin. I have had the privilege to know and call him a friend for several years now. How time flies! It wasn’t until now that it occurred to me to feature him. Don’t hate me, Chad!
So, who is this man I speak of? Much like myself, he wears many hats. Chad is a man of faith, with a calling for working with youth. He is dedicated not only to his faith, but his career and his family. Chad’s also a great listener, and always willing to lend a helping hand.
His career in the non-profit sector, with experience of over fifteen years includes being a board member, grant writer, director of education, just to name a few.
Chad is passionate about his music, both writing and playing…the guitar, that is. Did I mention he’s passionate about work? (Insert emoji here)!
I asked Chad what he wanted the world to know about him. I should have known. He replied,
“I think I would want the world to know I find tremendous fulfillment in seeing others grow and become more of who they are meant to be.”
When I inquired regarding the best advice he had ever received, he shared,
“…to always believe that you can learn and grow.”
Chad’s responses brought me back to the beginning of our working together. I was in the midst of recovering from memory loss after enduring a domestic violence incident and could barely finish my thoughts. I wanted to help other women in my situation and took on a project I could not have accomplished alone. Chad literally helped me put my words together when all I could do was cry. A couple of years later, we were finally able to present the Domestic Violence Financial Safety Plan; a literacy workbook that was pieced together with my pain, tears, and Chad’s support! It was all worth it!
Chad’s resourcefulness always gets the job done! Have a question and he does not have the answer? No need to fear; he will find what you need to hear! I can recall one day when my youngest expressed interest in the Biz Kids Program. I had mentioned to him I could get information since I knew Chad. He asked to connect with Chad and run some questions by him prior to fully committing. Chad graciously obliged and entertained his inquiries. Thank God for his sense of humor and commitment to the greater good!
The point I am trying to make with this feature is that sometimes we take things…people for granted. We don’t stop and thank those that have helped us along the way. There is so much more I can say about you, Chad; you are an amazing human being! Thank you for all you do, and especially for your belief in my efforts.
To future projects!
*In case anyone was wondering; my son ultimately completed the Biz Kids program, and said to me,
“Mom, I was bored!”
Go figure! Sorry Chad!
